There are three base designs and a total of fifteen iterations. The initial design for each composition is painted on a 36”x36” panel. Four additional designs in each group are painted on 12”x12” panels.
Decision Drift 1
In Decision Drift 1, a single line across the upper right quadrant of the composition slowly drifts from its initial location as the orange field expands.
The blue and orange fields are fairly smooth with a slight grain while the aqua fields displays wavy turbulence and texture.
Decision Drift 2
In Decision Drift 2, the vertex of the obtuse angle bordering the orange fields lifts across the five compositions. The orange fields expand and deviate from their initial parallel positions.
Texture is reduced compared to Decision Drift 1. The color fields are solid, but a wave texture lies beneath the blue field and the central aqua field.
Decision Drift 3
In Decision Drift 3, the vertex of line separating the orange fields travels from right to left across the compositions. As it does so, it shifts both the aqua and blue fields.
Texture is reduced to parallel brushstrokes which create a shifting but continuous grain across the face of the paintings.
